The reason we got together was to celebrate my grandparents 60th wedding anniversary! It is a major feat to get us all together because the family spans the globe- from Spain to Thailand! Iwas a fun weekend full of catching up, eating, playing, and taking lots of pictures.
On Friday night we had an official family photo shoot to commemorate the event. Too bad Rocky had to work!

All the grandkids- I don't think any of these pictures turned out well- poor Brinley on the end, what a bad mom am I to not be holding her!! Hey, I wanted it to be in the real order!
Friday night was this little lady's first night in a hotel and she did great! This is how she felt about the continental breakfast!
Saturday was spent playing hard! All the grandkids minus me and Brinley had a water balloon/waterhose fight. Really it was all the little kids versus John and David.
That afternoon the whole family participated in a "quiz show" put on by the little cousins. It was so cute to see how they orchestrated everything- from scripts, to costumes, to a job for everyone! They called it SOS- "Survivors of Sixty" and all the questions were about Memo and Pop's life together.
Lots of fun- go red team!
On Sunday, we all went to church together. It was Brinley's first time to go to church! We had to catch this on video, regardless of how inappropriate it may be to video in church. I think she liked the music but she couldn't be quiet during the preaching so she spent most of that time out in the hall with Daddy.
After church, we had a luncheon at a local tea room. We spent time reminiscing and sharing our favorite memories of Memo and Pop. We ended the event with a send off like a wedding- complete with bubbles, shoe polish on the windows and coke cans tied on the bumper.
I feel so lucky to be a part of this family. My grandparents are a true inspiration- living their lives and serving God all over the world together for 60 years. 4 wonderful children, 11 precious grandchildren, and 1 great grand child. What a wonderful thing to celebrate!
