First Lake Trip of the Summer!

We spent some time last weekend at Lake Brownwood. It was so much fun! The lake is down so there wasn't as much actual water time, but Nan made up for it with some really fun toys like this princess tent, aka "Brinley's House"

We did venture down to the water's edge to see if the fish were biting and survey the damage that no rain can cause a lake. Look at the walkways standing on dry ground! sad.

Brinley enjoyed Aunt Gail's new wall

And playing with nature's toys, dried leaves! Keeping clean is not an option at the lake!

After naptime, we decided to go for a swim. We started slow by watching the ducks and splashing a bit.

Then we went for the dunk, and it was not appreciated by Brinley!

So, a seat on a large rock and a pile of small rocks to throw in the water were the next in line.

Eventually she got in and loved it! She got away from us for a sec and took a full on dunk in the water but she surprisingly took it just fine! She had so much fun "simming"

She rocked the ruffles, let me tell you, this girl loved her "simmin soot"

and yes, I forgot to pack swim diapers. hahaha

Once we had enough sun for the day, it was time to go in. This was not well recieved by the Brinsters.

But it was all better soon after when we took a ride in "D's car" to the big dock where we fed some really big fish!

All that playing wore this girly out and we ended the night with a new Johnny Tractor book read by Nan.

The next day we had to leave. Another little sit in "D's car" helped the transition. Thanks for the fun weekend Nan and D!
