Our Little Christmas Celebration

We decided to have our family Christmas on Christmas Eve this year since we were planning to go to church on Christmas morning and we didn't want to be rushed. So on Christmas Eve Eve, Brinley got to open her first present from us. She had just received her gift from Granny, a hat and mittens that she crocheted. She loved them and insisted on wearing them all day!
Her first gift from us was snowman jammies! Then it was off to bed for sugarplum dreams! The next morning Brinley was so excited to see what Santa had put into her stocking. We have decided as a family that Santa fills our stockings and gifts come from family, friends, and us. She knew which one was hers because Daddy stuck a capital B on it.
Her favorite thing in the stocking? 2 Dora toothbrushes. And she doesn't even watch Dora!
She also loved these big zoo animals,
this plush ball bear that she and Daddy can play catch with,
and candy canes!! Seriously, if anyone asked her what she wanted Santa to bring her, she would say a candy cane. Excitement doesn't even begin to describe how she felt. :0)
Next it was time for Daddy and I to unload our stockings. Brinley helped him with the unpacking. His favorites? The drinking straw glasses and stick on tie. Don't you want this man to be your Ophthalmologist???

We took a break from playing and enjoyed a breakfast of waffles, scrambled eggs, and sausage.
Then we opened the rest of our presents. Brinley got a play doctor kit and a new preschoolers bible.
Daddy showed her the proper way to take a blood pressure reading. We spent the rest of the day playing and just hanging out. I am so thankful for our little family Christmas celebration at home!
Later on that day, Mimi came by to bring Brinley her presents. She loved the new train set complete with tracks, because she also asked Santa to bring her some tracks. We ended our evening with a wonderful candlelight service at our church. Brinley sang along to all the songs and did great!

We loved looking at this post to see your sweet family's Christmas! When we came across Rocky's "silly pic", Bekahs face lit up and said, "Mr Rocky, he's so silly!" And then she asked me about what was coming out of his mouth! Then she said, "I like looking at Mr. Rocky!" Yay! That works out, because he will be here soon!
