Our Week in Houston- The Burkharts

Brinley and I had so much fun spending the week at the Burkharts! Our weekdays were devoted to Courtney and Callie, but spending our evenings and downtime with Zack, Jenny, and Bekah were the icing on the cake! I loved having 6 days to talk and catch up with Jenny, and Brinley and Bekah had so much fun together! It was funny how they started interacting more as sisters with the occasional bickering but underlying love and adoration for one another as the week went by. Many memories were made for sure!
The girls spent alot of time at this kids table. They colored,
decorated pumpkins,
and even painted fingernails! Jenny offered to give the girls a pedicure, but Brinley didn't want her nails done, she wanted to do mine!
What a fun memory!
Rocky flew in late Friday night to hang out for the weekend. On Saturday morning, the guys went to play golf, so Jenny and I decided to take the girls swimming. We played at the park for a bit while we waited for the pool to open, but then we found out that it didn't open until 11:00!
So, we went to the coolest place called Art Mix instead. It is an art studio for kids where you pay by the hour and have free reign of tons of art supplies and you can make whatever you want.My little budding artist loved it, and I did too! She painted at the easel first. She kept holding her brush up on her face like this...So she ended up with paint all over her like this! Then she took a break and painted with some snazzy glittery watercolors. But it didn't take her long to head back to the easel, and this time Bekah joined her to make a little friendship painting!
We topped off our time with a first for Brinley- cutting with scissors!
On Saturday night, we got a babysitter and headed out on the town for a date! It's always fun to share dinner and talk and laugh with our best buddies! On Sunday morning we went to church then spent the afternoon napping and playing at the park.
We finished off our last night in Houston with the guys watching a manly movie and Jenny and I doing crafts and chatting. We were really good all week about going to bed and not staying up all night talking, like we have been known to do in the past, so we went all out on Sunday night to make sure we caught up on all the topics! And we made these fun ribbon topiaries while we were at it!
I loved every bit of my weekend with this sweet family of three...soon to be four! Thank you, thank you, thank you Burkharts for sharing a week of your lives with us and being such precious friends!
