I Don't Wanna Forget

This precious little sister is 2 years and 3 months old today, so I thought I would record some of the things she is saying and doing these days. She is developing into a sweet, loving, creative, talkative, curious, and hilarious little girl right before our very eyes. And I don't wanna forget these precious days! Anytime she completes a task or wants to show me something, she says "Tada!" (it sounds like "taaayyyya!")

When she hears someone in another room or outside, she says, "What's somebody doin?"

If we are heading somewhere and we are getting close or if she is tired of travelling, she says, "Mommy we almost?"
She has been napping a little less than she used to. She will still lay happily in her bed, but when I come in to get her she says, "All done sleeping!" She is definitely my child.

Lemons are called lemonades, chapstick is called lips, and cheese sticks are microphones.
She LOVES to sing! She has started showing us that she has memorized words to so many songs that we didn't even know she knew. She also loves putting what she is thinking or doing to a tune. Here she is organizing the silverware one day and singing about it.

She has also memorized many of the words to her favorite books and we had no idea until one night she wanted to read to us and she blew through 2 books right there. We were amazed. Here she is "reading" Waddle.

If she is ever frustrated at something like a toy or if she can't get her shoe on, she says "No, sir!" I guess she has heard teachers at the Y saying this to other kids. She hasn't said it to me so I find it pretty funny!

She can very clearly say "I don't like that" and she will tell me so when I try to get her to eat something or do something she doesn't want to do.

I love to see her sweet little heart. One day Ava was over and was upset about something and crying. Brinley left what she was doing and said, "I'm gonna check on Ava" then goes and gives her a hug.

She is very sweet with babies and always talks in a very high pitched tone to them. She also talks in this tone when she wants me to hold her or treat her more like a baby.

Periodically throughout the day she will come up and hug my leg and say, "How's your day, Mommy?"

She will pat our backs or stroke our faces when we are holding her and saying good night. It's priceless.

We are blessed beyond measure to be raising this precious girl and our hearts are filled with joy and thanksgiving!
