What Happens at the Ranch?

We spent last weekend at the Burkhart's Cloud Nine Ranch in the gorgeous Texas Hill Country.

It was the second year for this "med school reunion" and look how much we have changed in just one year! Two new babies and one on the way (congrats Hartzlers!). God has blessed our group so much!

It's virtually impossible for me to post every good picture and explain every wonderful moment we had this year, so I decided to just sum it up with some of my favorite pics and answers to the question, "what happens at the ranch?"

You see animals like this longhorn...
and lots of different kinds of deer!
Daddies shoot skeet...

and Mommies take lots of pictures!
You play hard and get real dirty!

You can wear hats...

Boots...
and jammies all day long!

You eat lots of great food...
and too many snacks!
You love on other people's kids...

and your own!

Your primary form of transportation is a mule...

horse...

wagon...

or Daddy's shoulders!

You learn lots of things...
like how to walk in high heels... (thanks Jenny and Bekah)

to bat a ball...

to share your toys...

and your mommy...

You do lots of sitting around...

and there's no max capacity to the hammock!

You can celebrate birthdays...

by leaving the kiddos at the ranch with their Daddies...

and heading in the to the big city of Junction for a manicure and some classy shopping!
You value an early bedtime for the kiddos...

but wear yourself out staying up playing Balderdash! Wow, we are crazy!
You dress your kids up like pilgrims and indians...

then shamelessly bribe them....

to pose for too many pictures...

that never really turn out the way we planned, but are perfect nonetheless!

But most importantly, you cultivate those friendships that will last a lifetime.

Thanks Burkharts for another great weekend. We are already excited about next year!
