Turkey Day 2009

This year we spent Thanksgiving in Abilene with my Dad and Barbara. John and David came down as well so it was wonderful to have the whole family together in one place. On Wednesday night we met everyone along with Blake and Holly at Abuelos for dinner. We had to leave after Rocky got off work and we sat through an hour long traffic jam on I20, so it was a late dinner indeed. We did manage to get in some good family pics!
The girls!
Thursday morning, the boys had the golfing itch so they decided to walk on and play nine holes at Fairway. They convinced me to bring Brinley and Benson along for the walk. I was nervous at first because I know dogs and babies aren't really allowed on golf courses, but there was no one there at all so I felt better. It was nice to get in a little physical activity before all the eating!

Rocky was so excited to take Brinley on a golf course for the first time! He plans to spend alot of time with her there in the future.
Everyone took a turn toting Brinley from hole to hole. She loved it!

Uncle John
While we were at the golf course, Dad was the master turkey fryer back at home. He did a great job, it was delicious!
Gotta love this real life family pic! Brinley spit up on me just moments before the camera flashed. Our facial expressions are all priceless!
Granny loved making Brinley smile.
Dad was as smitten as always!

Barbara's family came in from Breckenridge for the day. We ate lots of yummy food and just hung out. It was fun to get to know them better.

It was Brinley's first Thanksgiving and I think it went fairly well. She didn't nap much with all the action going on, so I spent alot of time trying to keep her happy. At least her bouncy seat entertained her while I scarfed down my meal! She finally got to enjoy her Thanksgiving dinner of yummy rice cereal that evening. She had to eat so she could sport her "Baby's First Thanksgiving" bib!

It was a very happy Thanksgiving!

She's so cute and so tiny compared to my gigantor baby! Looks like she had a great first Thanksgiving!
