I wish I could start this series of posts by saying that we hopped on a plane and jet setted to Orlando to seamlessly arrive at the happiest place on earth...but unfortunately that's not what happened! We started our trip the day before we were scheduled to fly out of Abilene because of a major snow storm! Who would have thought or planned on it? Not us. We had planned to fly out of Abilene to catch our flight to DFW to Orlando. Well most of the flights were being cancelled because of the snow so we didn't want to risk missing our flights and throwing off our whole trip. So after much debate and prayer, we hopped in the car with the Walkers (who were already planning to drive to Dallas to catch the flight out of DFW). It was pointless for us to take our own car since we would probably get to fly back in to Abilene so we crammed in the Acadia and headed to Dallas on the icy roads.
Jeremy did a great job driving and we made it there safe and sound with all our kids and luggage in tact. Win!
We had booked a hotel though a third party website but when we arrived we found out that there was no room for us with the influx of people from the cancelled flights due to the snow. So, we hit up our good buddies, the Warminski fam, and crashed at their house for the night. It was better than a hotel anyway! This girl was late to bed but so excited for princess dreams that she went right to sleep!
The next morning we were up bright and early to catch our flight to Orlando!
Brinley did great with the airport. Cason on the other hand was a little more difficult. Trying to chase him and pull large suitcases then hold your spot in line proved not to be for the faint of heart.
Eventually we made it to our gate and the kids were crazy wired and wacko until we boarded the plane! They were so excited I can't blame them. It had been a long 24 hours...
They got lots of attention for their cute matching outfits. I must admit they were adorable!
Time to board the plane!
The kids really did well on the flight. Brinley enjoyed all the Disney activities we had planned and packed in her backpack.
Cason did better than we expected. He took about an hour long nap with Daddy- how sweet is that?
Then he enjoyed standing, playing with the window covers, and watching a tiny bit of a show on the ipad. That didn't last as long as we wanted it to but it was near the end so we were ok!
Once we arrived we hopped on the Magical Express and headed Disney way! This was one excited little girl!
Next stop, the Contemporary Resort!
Our stroller was at the front desk waiting on us. It was so nice to have that ready!
We didn't waste any time and headed straight for the Magic Kingdom. It was about a 10 minute walk from our hotel. It was a little drizzly but that didn't slow us down! We hopped right onto Main Street USA.
We finally made it to the iconic castle!
The kids and Moms hit the rides first. Dumbo had no line at all so that sounded good to us!

Next up was our fast pass for the Winnie the Pooh ride. Did not disappoint!
There were parts with a blacklight...cool!
We had a little extra time before our dinner reservation, so we went to Tinkerbell's home to meet her and one of her friends. The girls had their autograph books and sharpies ready!
There is no guarantee which of Tink's friends will be with her so we were extremely pumped that it was Rosetta! She was so sweet and had the accent down pat!
Moms love fairies too!
Then it was time to meet Tinkerbell herself. She was also very sweet. She asked lots of questions to the girls. This was their first character meet and greet so they were pretty nervous and shy.
But you could tell they were on cloud 9!
We headed back to our hotel for our dinner reservation at Chef Mickeys! We got to meet all the "Fab 5"- Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, and Pluto. It was a crazy meal but so much fun. I'm glad we got the chance to meet those key players up close and personal!
Cason was all about Minnie and her ball shaped nose at first...
but then he was all the sudden terrified! I don't blame him, that's a lot for a 1 year old to take in.
These girls loved every minute.
Disney is definitely in the details so the Mickey shaped foods were abounding. Brinley ate it up- literally and figuratively!
After dinner we decided to forgo bedtimes and see the fireworks show. It's vacation, right?
It was a very good show and the kids loved it.
That night Mickey dropped off a little gift for Brinley to commemorate her first day at Disney. Donald was so delighted to meet her. :0)
Then it was off to dream land to be ready for day 2!
