Rocky has been studying for his board exams and he found out that there would be a training course in San Antonio. He thought it would be a good thing for him and I thought it would be a great thing for us to go along, especially since the Burkharts would be going too! We had a great week just hanging out in San Antonio. We didn't hit up any major touristy spots in SA like the Riverwalk,
Alamo, or Sea World but we did have
fun as a family doing cheesy stuff like swimming in the indoor pool and going to the mall.
Cason went for his first swim in a pool and Brinley had her first visit to the Disney Store. They loved both!We were glad to spend some time with sweet friends too. We met up for lunch with Jenny, her Mom, and the kids, and some of her San Antonio friends that I know too- Carla, Paige, and MaryPat and their kids.
That night Jenny's parents invited us over for dinner. The girls had a blast playing together and it was nice to catch up with our besties.
It was their first time meeting Cason since they are living so far away in Indiana!
The next night we met up with Kellee, Lane, and Jenna Talbert. Kellee and I were roomates at HSU and Lane and Rocky played football together. They were actually the ones that first decided Rocky and I needed to date after Lane and Rocky had lockers by each other in the dressing room. :0) Our girlies had never met but immediately hit it off. It was sooo good to see them and catch up on life!
On Thursday morning the kids and I said goodbye to Daddy and headed to the Burkhart's ranch near Junction. No visit to the hill country would be complete without a visit there!
Nora, Jenny, and the kids led the way. Rocky, Zack, and Dr. Burkhart would join us on Friday evening after the training was over.
When the Warminskis and Louis' caught wind of our visit, they wanted to come too! And, since the Hartzlers wouldn't be able to be there because Sari is pregnant and not enough time to get plane flights, we invited the Seamans to join in on the craziness! It was an amazing weekend, as always! The Seamans arrived a little after we did and these girls wasted no time getting decked out and playing away. They had a blast together all weekend.
And not long after, the Louis fam showed up! Love these kiddos, especially in their best dress up gear!
That night we enjoyed bbq and tortured Mikey and Tom with lots of dinnertime girl talk. :0) We were up bright and early the next morning and made ourselves comfortable on the porch rocking chairs.
We drank coffee, did hair, read books, and talked and talked away. Mornings are probably my favorite part of the day at the ranch.
This was Cason's first visit to the Ranch and he seemed to enjoy himself. He wasn't the best sleeper, but he loved getting to know all his buddies better- Connor, Benjamin, and Simon.
After everyone was up, fed, dressed and ready for the day we decided to take a walk to the barn to feed the horses.
Cason had his first one on one encounter with a horse. He was much more relaxed about it than I was...
All the kids were anxious to feed the horse a treat, well that is except one little lady...
Who was much more comfortable in the wagon with her book. She's funny like that, her Daddy's daughter for sure.
I was sure she was going to miss out on this experince all together, but after we made it up to the barn, she had a complete change of heart. I guess it just took her a little longer to be ready. Jenny made sure he held the treat just right in her flat palm, and she did great. No fear at all!
Hooray for Brinley! I was so proud of my girl.
After our trip to the barn, more hard core playing and exploring was to be had...
Then it was off to bed for naps! Rocky, Zack, and Dr. Burkhart arrived later that afternoon. We had a yummy dinner of Spaghetti and Meatballs, then we bundled up and took the kids on a ride to find some animals. They were so excited!
We rode on the mule with the Seamans family. Precious friends!
Fun times!
The Warminskis got in later that evening and we enjoyed our kid free evening in the hot tub. Everyone headed to bed by midnight to be ready for another big day of ranch fun!
