Rocky's cousin Vanessa has a little girl named Jasmine that is 5. She and Brinley hit it off immediately and had a blast together all week. It was so nice to have a playmate for her to keep her entertained. :0)
We decided to break our trip into 2 parts and drove to OKC the first night to stay with John and Kalyn in their new home. It was fun and the house was so nice- too bad I didn't get any pictures. The next morning we got up early and headed to Branson. The very first item on our agenda was Veggie Tales Live! We got there just in time for a picture with Bob and Larry. Brinley was so excited as we waited in line but freaked out when we got up close. Naturally!
Once we were in the show, she LOVED it!
She was such a happy girl watching her favorite characters come to life.
There was even a little dancing to "I Can Be Your Friend".
And look, they found Larry's hairbrush!!
The next day we headed to a Branson favorite, Silver Dollar City amusement park.
Brinley was tall enough to ride many of the rides, but I will admit, I was a little nervous that she would freak out and not want to ride anything.Boy was I wrong! With the help of Jasmine, who was a pro at this park, she jumped right on the frog ride first and loved it.
She finished that one and headed straight to the Ladybugs with no hesitation. I am so glad her typical fearful nature did not come out!
She loved these butterflies that the push of a button would control them going up or down. They kept them up high the entire time.
We ventured out of little kid land into some larger rides, and since Brinley was coming off such a positive experience with her first rides, she went on these boats with Rocky. They turned out to be really fast and sort of ended her riding of rides for a bit. She and Daddy took a little break after that whirlwind. My pregnancy
But I did get to take a couple of twirls on the carousel. WooooHoo!
After a little break, we headed to a new kids area we hadn't tried yet and Brinley rode an all time favorite, the swings. Another big hit!
Once we had ridden all the rides, we had some lunch, and did them all again! Brinley and Jasmine flew solo on all of them this go around, they were old pros.
On our second go at the swings, it started raining! They were already on the ride and couldn't get off, so they just had to get drenched. Brinley didn't get upset or anything but she kept looking at us with this face, like "why don't yall help a sister out here?"
After the rain, we were tired and all done with amusement parking for the day. It was a wonderful first experience for Brinley and we had so much fun! The next post will include all the rest of our fun week in Branson!
