Celebrating with The Seamans
The past two weekends we have been able to celebrate major events in our friends, The Seaman's, life! First came the chance to host a baby shower for their soon to be here addition, Connor James!
The Hostesses and the Mommy!
We chose a "Great Thinkers" theme. I know that sounds random but it was a joke because Mikey had thrown that out as an idea for nursery decor when they first found out they were having a boy. We just took the idea and ran with it. The poem on the invite explains it a little better.
We went with an adults only couples dessert party. The dessert menu included Confuscious' Caramel Corn, Newton's Apple Pies, Mark Twain's Huckleberry Bars, Einstein's Mustache Pops, and Pi R Square Cheesecake Brownies,
For drinks, we served Tolstoy's White Russians, Socra"Tea"s, Coffee, and water. For more details on the party, you can see Vaughanie's post here.
It was an intimate gathering of our closest friends. They were wanting low key, and that is definitely what it was. We just hung out and had fun.
The ladies spent the whole time talking away...
but of course the guys had to get silly with our decorations.
And my GT husband had to come up with another use for the fake mustaches. Can you say Guido?
This following weekend we got together for Ava's third birthday party. Vaughanie wanted to do something small for her before Connor arrives, so a Minnie party with a few of her closest friends was the perfect fit!
The kids played, we had cupcakes, and opened presents. Vaughanie and I made these cupcakes and they turned out so cute!
The kids took a break from playing to color for a while. I was amazed that all these kids were sitting and focused on coloring at the same time. It was a nice 5 minutes. :0)
And Brinley took a break from the action to read Ava's princess book. Love this little girl.
We are so grateful for Mikey,Vaughanie, Ava Woo Woo and Connor!
