Houston Hike Day 1 - Park and Fire Station

We had a great time last week taking a "hike" to Houston to visit the Burkharts. We crammed so much fun into 2 days and took so many pictures, that I thought it was best suited for more than one post. So, here is day one of our Houston Hike! The trip started out great with a fabulous drive.

The kids did so well and even had a nap, so they were ready to play!

Little Miss Bekah was still asleep, but soon she woke up and immediately put on her Minnie Mouse dress. I was so happy to see this little fashionista again!

First stop, one of the great parks in the Burkhart's neighborhood. After a short wagon ride and we were there!

Brinley, of course, bee-lined it to the swings.

But she eventually got her fill and decided to explore the rest of the park. After a quick game of checkers with her dear old mama, she joined her friends in some grassy knoll frolicking.

Bekah held Brinley's hand and guided her just like her friend Ava Woo Woo does so well!

Jenny had told Henry that we would stop by the fire station to see the fire trucks on the way home. We had no idea that the firemen would be so friendly and let Henry get a close up view of the truck and the garage. He was so excited!

Bekah and Jenny joined him in the truck but of course Brinley was too scared.

All the kids perked up when they got a handy dandy fire hat!

This was as close as we could get to the fire truck.

After the firehouse fun, we headed back to the house for some sandbox fun, dinner, and an early bedtime.

Brinley and Henry were still excited about those hats on day 2 of our trip- but you will have to hear more about that in my next post!

Great post Amy! I loved the video of the car drive with Margaret's silliness and Brinely and Henry's talking! So sad it's over, but it couldn't have been a more perfect trip, thanks again so much for making the drive down to see us! Bekah is still talking about it!
