Rocky's 10 Year Reunion

This past weekend we headed to Sudan for Rocky's 10 year high school reunion. We had a great time! I loved reliving all of Rocky's glory days and meeting his old friends. First on the agenda was the pep rally. I love that the entire school comes out and cheers on the team. Brinley really liked it despite the loud band and crowd. She clapped right along and enjoyed the cheerleaders.

After the pep rally, I let her walk on the gym floor and she loved it. She watched the cheerleaders intently as they tore down all the decorations.

Later that evening we headed to the school cafeteria for a pre-game meal of lasagna. Rocky's friend Rene and his wife Cheryl joined us. Before we could eat, they had to walk down memory lane and look at their class picture in the "hall of memories".

After dinner it was time for the football game at Hornet Field- Rocky's old stompin' grounds!

Rocky got to see lots of old friends at the game. Here are 2 of them, Pime and Rosendo.

Brinley got to meet the Hornet mascot and, as you can see from her death grip on Rocky, she wasn't a big fan at first.

She loosened up enough for me to get a pic

but she was never really quite sure of it. We will see how it goes with Santa this year...

Nan and Grandy drove in from Branson and came straight to the game to pick up Brinley. They headed home to put her to bed and Rocky and I got to enjoy the rest of the game.

Saturday morning started off bright and early with playtime. Brin roped Randy into reading her books for a while.

Nan brought out Brinley's presents they got her in Branson- a purse, necklace, and bracelet. She found Nan's visor to complete her outfit. Stylin!

She also found her favorite little chair.

Nan is always the best playmate!

Baby made an appearance again too. The toys at Grandy and Nan's house are so much fun!

We finally got dressed to get busy prepping the backyard for our party that night. Brinley has been really scared of big steps lately. She sat here for quite some time trying to figure out what to do...

Then she developed this plan of crawling down on all fours. Such a Cautious Cathy!

Brin played on the porch while everyone else worked on sprucing up the backyard. Well, everyone but me...I wasn't much help with that part!

Once the backyard was all ready, we got spiffed up for the party. Brinley helped Rocky look his best by combing his hair.

One of the first people to arrive was Rocky's best friend from high school, Erik, his wife Robbie, and their daughter Andi. Andi and Brinley are only a couple of months apart. Funny how these two jocks both have girls now. My how things have changed!

The flies were pretty bad around the food and poor Randy sat in the barn and fought his heart out to keep them off the food. Seriously, it was the most flies I had seen in a while!

Everyone had a great time visiting and eating together.

Brinley loved playing with all the kiddos. And Nan helped watch her as she roamed.

This little gal was named McKenna, another daughter of one of Rocky's best friends, Donyale. She was on the move constantly- Brin could barely keep up!

On Sunday we got dressed and ready for church! We went to FBC Sudan, the church Rocky grew up, to keep with the walk down memory lane.

After church we went to Aunt Gail's for lunch. Kim showed Brinley all of Gail's neat toys.

Brinley also enjoyed roaming around Gail's gorgeous backyard. She made fast friends with Haldon. He followed her all over as she explored the farm.

Gail and Brinley went to look around the barn and came back with this little guy. There are always kittens at Gail's barn!

All in all, it was a fun filled weekend for all of us. I left feeling so blessed for Rocky that he was able to grow up in such a wonderful town full of good people that loved and cared for him. Go Hornets!
