We just got home from a wonderful vacation in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Rocky had the opportunity to attend and present at an Ophthalmology conference there so we tagged along and met up with the Burkharts and the Warminskis for a nice little vacay!
The flight went great. Brinley loved it and had no ear trouble at all. Her favorite part was the ascent and descent- my least favorite! She loved going fast.
When we arrived, we hit the beach immediately. It was a little too late for swimming but perfect for playing in the sand. Brinley loved it and dug right in.
She definitely had a better relationship with the sand this time than the last time we were at the beach 2 years ago!
After a nice dinner with our friends at the hotel's restaurant, we put Brinley down for an early bedtime. She didn't get her nap because of our flight, so she was ready to get in her very own big girl hotel room bed. She slept great the entire time!
The next morning we were up bright and early. We got food to have our breakfast and lunch at the hotel. She loved having a "Canola Bar" each morning for breakfast.
Rocky had to be at the conference that morning to present his poster, so the Mommies and kiddos hit the beach full force! Brinley and Audrey sported their floaties at first because we didn't know how brave they would be, but I soon found out that Brinley wouldn't need hers because she only got about ankle deep in the water before turning back.
She was so excited to build sandcastles!
After a little while, Brin got some sand in her eyes and was getting tired, so we took a little break at our beach chairs. I loved the sweet snuggle time with my gal!
We had matching pink sparkly toes for the beach!
Not long after our break, Daddy got back from his meeting! Brinley couldn't wait to show him the sandcastles.
We got a second wind once Daddy arrived and played a little more before heading in for a nap.
That evening we got all cleaned up and put on our best beach dress (thanks Mimi!) for some pics.
There were lots of cute ones. Ice cream bribes work wonders in getting little girls to pose for the camera!
Awkward but sweet...
After the photo shoot, we walked to a nearby restaurant for dinner on the patio.
Brinley had her first "kids table" experience. They all did great!
And the adults (Jenny and Zack were at the other end of the table!) enjoyed our 5 or so minutes of alone time before the kid table started invading. :0)
After dinner, it was back to the hotel for bedtime stories with Bekah and a good night's sleep to get ready for another day of beach fun!
